Arrive in Manali and settle in for the trek. Meet the trek team, complete the briefing and prepare your backpack for the trail. Visit Hadimba Devi Temple, Old Manali. Buy necessary items that you may have missed.
Drive from Manali to the traditional village of Rumsu, the starting point of the trek. From Rumsu, begin walking through beautiful deodar and pine forests towards Naya Tapru. The trail gradually gains altitude through the forest before reaching the campsite at around 9,600 ft.
A short but steadily ascending trail leads from Naya Tapru towards Chaklani. Walk through alpine forests and open mountain sections, with the landscape becoming more expansive as you gain altitude. Reach Chaklani at approximately 10,800 ft and spend the evening surrounded by the quiet Himalayan landscape.
This is the summit day and the most demanding day of the trek. Start early from Chaklani and climb towards Chandrakhani Pass (12,000 ft), where spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks reward the ascent. Pause at the pass to take in the high-mountain scenery, then retrace the trail all the way back to Naya Tapru for the night. The long ascent and descent make this a physically demanding day, so good trekking shoes, water and trekking poles are recommended.
After breakfast, begin the final descent from Naya Tapru back to Rumsu along the forest trail. Enjoy the changing scenery and a relatively relaxed final stretch as you gradually lose altitude. Reach Rumsu and drive back to Manali, marking the end of the Chandrakhani Pass adventure.
